2016 Annual General Meeting
April 28 – May 1, 2016, in Oakville
In April of 2016, Ontario’s Chamber Network will come together in Oakville to chart the course for the year to come.
The OCC Annual General Meeting (AGM) represents one of the most significant opportunities for chamber leaders from across the province to come together to network with peers, debate policy issues that are of significant importance to the Ontario business community, and to shape our advocacy agenda for the year ahead.
The contributions of AGM delegates in previous years have resulted in many advocacy successes. The OCC’s efforts to mitigate the impacts of the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan (ORPP) on business and to ensure that Ontario’s electricity rates are competitive, for example, were driven by policy resolutions submitted by local chambers and boards of trade in previous years.
Click here to review the process and procedures for submitting policy resolutions. The deadline to submit a resolution for the 2016 AGM is Thursday, February 25, 2016.
The development of policy and advocacy on behalf of the Ontario business community is at the core of our business. As a grassroots organization, the activities of Ontario’s Business Advocate are greatly enhanced by the participation of our members – chambers, boards of trade, and corporate – on our policy and advocacy priorities.
The OCC’s AGM allows members to learn from subject experts, debate policy resolutions and formulate the OCC’s annual advocacy strategies. Our annual financial reports are also made public to our membership at this meeting. Local Chambers bid to host the AGM so the Chamber Network can see and learn about all areas of our province.
