OCC Offers Solutions to Ontario’s Mounting Fiscal Troubles

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) has submitted its recommendations to the Commission on the Reform of Ontario’s Public Services (also known as the Drummond Commission).

The Commission, which has been charged with finding cost-savings within the public sector, will report its findings to the provincial government in time to inform the 2012 Ontario Budget.

The submission urges the provincial government to develop a public sector compensation restraint strategy, deliver services through other entities, control rising health care costs and ensure municipalities spend provincial transfers wisely.
