OCC Outlines Economic Rationale for New Niagara to GTA Corridor

In its formal submission to the Transportation Minister, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) expresses concern that the Ministry’s draft strategy for the Niagara Peninsula and GTA West region does not include a new transportation corridor among the short-term options.

Given the billions in lost output caused by road congestion in Ontario each year, the OCC believes long-term planning for a multi-modal transportation network featuring a new Niagara to GTA corridor should begin immediately in order to mitigate existing and unforeseen delays in the movement of goods and people.
