OCC Presents Business Priorities for Apprenticeship Training

With the input of its membership, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) has prepared a formal submission outlining business priorities for apprenticeship training in the province.

This submission was prepared in response to a request for feedback by the newly created College of Trades on the design of regulations for determing apprenticeship ratios and compulsory certification.

The OCC feels that in order to make Ontario’s workforce competitive internationally, these regulations must take into account the effect on labour supply, small businesses as well as the demand for a more flexible and highly skilled workforce.
